Ready, Set, SNOW!

So I remember when I was working at the YMCA and I made some ridiculous comment about how come Texas shuts down for a little snow, can't people down here learn how to drive in the snow? I start this post with that because I know most of you who read this will think the same thing, why on earth does the whole state shut down for a little snow? Well folks it's not snow in Texas it's ice. And this time it wasn't just a little. Every road in every city was covered in inches if it and I don't care where you are from you don't ever really learn how to drive on ice. So take roads and sidewalks covered in ice and then add snow on top of it and it is a huge mess. That's how all last week was and I am so glad it's over! Being stuck in the house that whole week was not ideal! But we did get some play time in and a few cute photos.

I will say that something good came of being trapped indoors for a whole week. CALEB IS FULLY POTTY TRAINED! This is something I have been dreading, like ... make me sick to think about and tried to avoid the very discussion of! I couldn't figure out why I DID NOT want to potty train him. So a few weeks ago I really thought about it. I mean we as parents know what we want the end result to be, our child to pee and poop on the toilet and to tell us they need to go but I had NO IDEA how to get him to do that! And I was seeing potty training horror stories from my friends live, in action! They switch from diaper to underware to pull ups to diaper and this goes on and on for months! I was seeing frusteration and anger in a lot of my friends and I did not want that! So I decided to be proactive, if I was going to do this then I needed a plan so I went on line and did some research. I ended up at a web site called startpottytraining.com and it told me I could potty train my child in three days. THREE DAYS! Not months and months of switching from underware to diapers but three days! So I paid the $37.00 and downloaded her book. WORTH EVERY PENNY! That's all I have to say. IF you are a frusterated mom and want to know her tricks, call me! It took ONE DAY folks, ONE DAY!
