Like You!

This Mothers Day turned out to be a wonderful one for me! My little Caleb is pretty cuddly guy when he is tired and it's a good thing because he is not the most affectionate person out there. He's not mean, that's not at all what I'm trying to say. And really it's not a fair comparison becuase Austin is so overly affectionate that I think it may drive the average Joe crazy. As his monther I love it, it's like he idols me! He says things like, "Mommy, I had fun at the park today but the person I like playing best with is you." Or "Hey mom, I'll miss you while I'm at school." Or "You're the best mom in the whole world!" And these things come out often! Where as when I say I love you to Caleb I have to say, "What do you say back?" and his answer is usually goodbye! Cause he thinks you only say I love you to someone when they are leaving. I have often wondered if he would care at all if he one day woke up with a different mother.

So back to where I was originally headed with all of this. Sunday morning I got to sleep in which was so nice becuase I have been sick. When I got up the boys had made cards for me and they were so cute. I was telling them how cute they were and giving them hugs when Caleb stepped away from his hug and pointed to me and said, "Like you Mommy!" Seriously I almost started to cry! There is signifance in this becase Caleb right now is on a "Like" streak. In the car if he hears a song he likes he tells me "liked that song" or food "liked that food" or whatever it may be. He "likes" garbage trucks, his stuffed animals, Thomas the Train, books we read him "like that book Mommy". I have heard him say it so many times recently and then on Sunday he said it to me and he looked right into my eyes when he said it! It may not sound like a huge deal but I am sure most moms remember the first time their little one said "I love you Mom" and knew what they were saying and meant it. And even thought that's not what he said it meant the world to me! I like you too Caleb!
